Convenient central location!

Aries Hotel and Spa Zakopane is centrally located yet the neighborhood is extremely peaceful and quiet. It is actually a two minute walk off the main crowded strip with the shops, the many vendors and restaurants. Aries Hotel & Spa was my second choice, so being in Zakopane I felt it was compulsory to feel the vibes of the centre as well.

Check-In

We arrived a bit earlier and had to wait for a while until our room was ready. We were offered another room if we wished that was already cleaned, but I thought it would be better to wait, thus we got advantage of the time waiting to book our next day’s rafting excursion through an agent from the Aries Hotel and Spa Zakopane.

Groun Floor Ambience

Upon stepping foot inside the Aries Hotel and Spa Zakopane, and headed to the reception desk we had the feeling of a comfortable modern mountain lodge that had kept well the traditional Zakopane style and we couldn’t wait to explore it.

The ground floor was aesthetically pleasing giving out a charming relaxing atmosphere. Rustic furnishings mingle with contemporary style, leather and solid wood in natural tones and has an interior with character. Although the Aries Hotel and Spa Zakopane is a structure from the 1950’s, a stylish stone masonry with wooden window decorations and steep roof, it is eye-catching and impressive for its scale. Renovations have modernized in a way this renowned hotel without taking away any of its charismatic elegance or character.

Room #118

Our room was a Premiere double, cozy and functional with an alpine kind of interior different from other hotels I usually stay at, yet so inviting! Spacious enough for two, with mosaic wallpaper and fitted carpet. Beds were extremely comfortable and we enjoyed a good night’s sleep. Once we entered the suite, I was delighted to see a complimentary dainty morsel presentation on the dressing table. A nice touch indeed!

Aries Hotel and Spa Zakopane

Our request was for two singles as I was along with Margo, a good friend and my guide in a way. Several times I have come across tiny single beds in Poland but the ones here at the Aries Hotel and Spa Zakopane were much wider and comfy. Once we lay down it feels like we are sleeping on clouds. Linens were bright with a thick fluffy blanket on top and pillows were just the right.

Although there was a flat-screen TV, we never used it, but we used the minibar and the safe together with the hotel’s hairdryer. Bathrobes were well appreciated as well, just as the free Wi-Fi which is free for all guests.

Bathroom

Our bathroom was average in size but it had a powerful rainfall shower and a shower cabin. The branded set of toiletries inspired by nature were well appreciated. The (Bio Extracts Naturals) offered some extra opulence touch –perhaps the best I came across through my 3 week trip in Poland.

Functional Garden Area

We enjoyed a friendly welcome by the two guys who were on duty at the reception the time of arrival. The downside was that the agent (a lady) who arranged our Rafting excursion for the next morning did not let us know that the picking-up time had changed. We found accidentally when we called the reception a little before midnight for a totally different reason. The thought that if we hadn’t called that evening, we could have missed the tour since the time changed and we had no idea, drove me crazy. A note could have easily be left in an envelope and dropped under the door. Unfortunately professionalism was lacking in her case!

Breakfast

Breakfast at the Ariet Hotel and Spa Zakopane was a delectable sumptuous feast! The buffet was extended and everything seemed fresh and of high quality. The rich American breakfast buffet included everything a demanding guest could expect. Great variety, enough to fill you up for hours.

Halka Restaurant

As for the Spa I had read lots of positive comments and was anxious to enjoy some of its facilities, yet we were quite unlucky because during our visit the spa was closed. We attempted to see at least the facilities the second afternoon, but found the doors locked. We left without even a glimpse of the swimming pool. I am sure the lucky ones who will find it open will certainly unwind and enjoy the facilities offered. Being outdoors most of the time, we did not have the opportunity to visit the Beauty Saloon either.

Halka, is the signature restaurant of the Aries Hotel and Spa Zakopane, a well-known restaurant in the area, the interior of which is extremely impressive. I requested to be on B/B here only because we were so close to the centre where choice for food was in plethora and most of the time we were outdoors till quite late, returning to the hotel only to sleep. Definitely I would count in this restaurant when back.

Sculpture Garden

Right behind the restaurant there is this small garden and the time we were there there was an art exhibition wih amazing in beauty sculptures for visitors to admire. All were the work of the well-known artist in Poland Monika Osiecka’s.

Verdict

The Aries hotel and Spa is a great choice for a centrally located hotel in Zakopane. Our stay might have been short but it was memorable. The Aries Hotel and Spa is unique for long or short stays, for shopping, sight-seeing, and why not business trips as well. If ever back to Zakopane, I would love to stay here again.
