Boutique Hotel Archontiko Kymis is a luxury property with an exquisite art design theme throughout. It was our second choice and totally different style from the first one. The second half of our stay in Kymi was anchored by this incredible boutique hotel, a welcome encore after previously checking-out from the Kymi Palace in Evia. This little gem is located in upper Kymi, east Evia. The location of the Boutique Hotel Archontiko Kymis is perfect as it dominates over the most beautiful point of the town. It could easily be called “the balcony of the Aegean” especially if you read further down and see photos of the suite we stayed. This little hidden gem can be found on the main road and is with an easy walk to the town’s square and all central attractions of Kymi.
The entrance door was half-open, and the moment we stepped in we were immediately enveloped in serene, elegant surroundings. We followed up the marble staircase to find ourselves surrounded by the discreet luxury of the interior, the romantic atmosphere that neoclassical elements masterfully combined with modern comforts. There was something to stop and stare at, in every corner as if nothing is left to chance here. The distinctive architecture and refurbishment of the old mansion, the artistic frescoes, oak doors and floors, those linens and lace that decorate curtains and beds, are simply some of the features that from the first few minutes will leave you impressed.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly housekeeping staff, Marietta, who was expecting us and welcomed us with homemade spoon-dessert and cold water that she brought shortly to our beautiful suite after our arrival; a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch.
Boutique Hotel Archontiko Kymis Accommodation
After my request, she kindly offered to show us a bit around the interiors of the available rooms. The property has only 7 bedrooms in total, which are luxurious, named after ancient gods and princesses names, in an artistic style, with with a different décor and layout.
Rooms offer all the modern facilities and services the visitor is looking for. Two of the rooms are dedicated to children, with stunning wall paintings and particularly cheerful décor, facilities and amenities hardly found anywhere else in the round area.

All rooms in the Boutique Hotel Archontiko Kymis are light and airy, designed to stimulate a relaxing and soothing atmosphere, perfect for a vacation getaway.
The ones at the back have a stunning view of the Aegean Sea, the harbour of Kato Kymi but also the olive groves, even the Island of Skyros in the far distance!

In the public areas and the breakfast lounge, the look is magnified by the impressive chandelier, the granite floors in white and black, the gorgeous paintings. All these and more give warmth and positive energy!
Under-floor air conditioning with the use of deionized water indicates the eco-energy character of the building and maintains the correct temperature inside, depending on the season.
The LCD television sets, WI-FI Internet, minibar and mini-safe complement the rich range of facilities in each room.
The Filoxeni Suite Interior
Our Junior Suite “Filoxeni” was elegant and decorated to perfection and was one of my favourite things about our stay in Kymi.
It felt like a haven and a sanctuary away from noise and crowds, elegantly decorated to perfection with plush furnishings, elaborate headboards and a ceiling chandelier. It is one of the top suites, and if you like this colour, you should book a stay in it.
With wall and furniture art-work in a pale blue shade, it was so inviting, so perfect! It was like stepping into a dreamy atmosphere surrounded by birds, sea and sky with elegant pieces of furniture, and a grand king-size bed so nicely set with linen and laces that for a moment we kept staring at it, hesitating to lay on.
Room Service
Our room was serviced once a day, and it felt fresh and clean. Besides the complimentary treat upon arrival, we enjoyed the room service, a treat upon request of course!
The Bathroom
Our Junior Suite had an ensuite mosaic bathroom and was quite spacious for our personal use. So perfectly equipped with a walk-in shower with a pillar of hydromassage and a towel warmer, as well as fresh towels and toiletries from a well-known local brand.
Junior Suite Filoxeni View
The tiny balcony had a great view. Seated out there, I would leave my sight loss over the blue horizon of the Aegean Sea, and I would wake up much earlier to catch a glimpse of the beautiful sunrise before heading to the charming and so inviting breakfast lounge.

Breakfast at Boutique Hotel Archontiko Kymis
Our mornings here were stress-free with the idea that we could enjoy a late breakfast. The Boutique Hotel Archontiko Kymis is one of the few properties to focus on their ingenuity with special touches that pleasantly surprise and impress their customers.
We woke up to a lovely spread of breakfast treats each morning with a breathtaking table setting, prepared exclusively from the owner of the property, Mrs Maria. With attention to detail, quality, and taste, a banquet of colours and flavours, everything fresh made us feel so special. What more to ask!
Along with a blissful 8-hours sleep and a hearty breakfast, I felt really refreshed the next day and ready to do some exploring of the round area.
Sightseeing
A stroll to the city centre is a must! Narrow back streets and cobblestone lanes, stone-built houses and the house of Dr George Papanikolaou inventor of the Pap Test. Kymi happens to be his birthplace!
- Choneftiko – popular for its famous spring water with therapeutic and digestive qualities.
- The Monastery of Metamorfosi (Transfiguration of the Savior)
- The Folklore Museum of Kymi.
Verdict
Luxurious in all senses, the Boutique Hotel Archontiko Kymis has been designed to blend the original features with the modern and contemporary and achieved this unique atmosphere that comes out of a fairy-tale, offering charm, personalized touch and something not typically found in many branded hotels. If you plan to visit this area, the Boutique Hotel Archontiko Kymis is definitely worth considering for your holiday to central Evia.
