Mexican Theme Night!

We had another memorable culinary experience while at the Torch, this time we had dinner invitation at their awarded signature Flying Carpet Restaurant that offers international cuisine

Located on the Mezzanine on the 2nd level, this amazing all-day dining restaurant exceeded our expectations by far!

The beautiful interior of the Flying Carpet restaurant of the Torch hotel carried us away. The ambience is magical and really hard to beat. Seeing the flying carpets hanging from the ceiling, -in some parts carpets are even on walls, I felt as if we were part of an Arabian Night’s tale. If the theme of the cuisine that night was dedicated to the Arab, Persian Gulf Cuisine instead, it would have in all means be the perfect dining experience.

Well, it was the Mexican theme night instead, I was reticent at first as I am not a huge fan of this kind of cuisine thinking that I would be disappointed. How wrong I was!

Before proceeding to the buffet we decided to take it easy and enjoy first a refreshing fruitty mocktail. Later on during the meal we had two more. I can’t say that mocktails pair at all with the food but since spirits are banned we had no other choice

Of course there was the open kitchen with (salmon fillet, Beef Rib Eye, Chicken Skewer, Prawns) cooked fresh in front of you. I believe this wing is open every night anyway. Definitely we opted for the Mexican cuisine and we did not regret it

In the meantime people kept coming in and went straight to the buffet so it was time for us to proceed as well.  The presentation was great. Everything nicely laid out, the buffet was vast and rich with lots of Mexican dishes

With amazing dips, salads and a variety of Mexican salsa, hot appetizers, Guacamole, Tortilla, Enchiladas, Tacos, Mexican spicy rice and many more. The selection was impressive, and I enjoyed nibbling at different things. I loved the hot appetizers!

The tastes were authentic Mexican from different culinary regions. There was nothing I did not like and I was quite careful with my choice as always. We loved everything we put on our plates

Dessert

We were full towards the end of the meal but how could we resist the great selection of delectable desserts, puddings and cakes that were so nicely presented! Yummy tastes but I didn’t care less. The next morning I was up in the gym room to burn the extra calories

Verdict

This meal was overall full of exciting flavours and I would highly recommend whether you stay for dinner or not. The service was glorious, the quality of the food the best and everything looked beautiful. Without hesitation, I can greatly recommend the Flying Carpet of the Torch hotel in Doha! Advance reservation is required.
