Frangiorgio Hotel Larnaca is a new build, unique and beautiful, with nothing reminding of the old much smaller hotel which I used to stay when I wanted to visit Larnaca a few years back! Located on the most famous Gregoriou Afxentiou avenue, the Frangiorgio Hotel Larnaca could not be better. It is less than a five-minute walk to Finikoudes renowned Palm tree promenade, yet away from the hassle and bustle of the city centre and close to shops, the beach and archaeological sites. The Archaeological Museum is only 100 metres away, as well as the Tourist Information Centre, while Larnaca International Airport, a 20-minute drive.
Check-in
I was expected to check-in late afternoon, but I called to inform that I would arrive a couple of hours later that evening. Since Larnaca is my hometown, I wanted to combine this stay with seeing my Mum and spending precious time with her at home while in Larnaca. Upon arrival, Evi Maria whom I must have known for the last at least eight years from previous stays was on duty that night and greeted me warmly as always. Check-in was a matter of a couple of minutes. Before heading to the room, we had a friendly chat as I was eager to know about the new changes, the location of the brand new restaurant and time of breakfast.

Reception Ambience
The modern spirited lobby left me impressed. Fresh and so inviting, I felt lucky that I decided to include the Frangiorgio Hotel Larnaca on this visit to Cyprus, after all.
Accommodations
There is a choice of 5 different room types depending on the demands of customers, 58 in all, as well as three specially designed for guests with mobility issues. Size of standard double rooms starts from 25 sq. Meters to 38. This last one has a balcony as well. All rooms come with a minibar, a safety deposit, hairdryer, wake up service bathrobe, radio desk, a flat-screen TV, a sofa, wake-up service, electric kettle, not to mention the ironing facilities which surprised me happily.

Room 212
The superior double 212 that I stayed in faced the adjoining building’s sidewall, and it is a room I must have stayed a few more times. It has a tiny balcony equipped with a small rotunda table and chairs. I prefer it as I find that it is quieter than others overlooking right on the avenue. I need to state at this point that city hotels cannot avoid road noise even if they are 5-star hotels, so if somebody complains about road noise in the evening it is not the hotels to blame, but the stupidity of locals. They get excited after a drink or two and spin in the city roads to show off.
The interior of the room was contemporary furnished, everything new and decent, with nothing missing. Fully air-conditioned and high-speed WI-Fi. The brand new king size bed provided a good night’s sleep and was highly appreciated, not to mention that I had it all to myself!
I never bothered to use the TV. You see, I used to leave the hotel after breakfast and returned only for sleep spending hours at home with Mum and seeing relatives as well as enjoying long strolls in the morning at the Palm tree promenade and the Larnaca marina for photos. The Bathroom
The bathroom had the standard average, modern and functional with a walk-in shower, a convenient washbasin that provided plenty of space to place the toiletry bag with comfort. Robes, sleepers and a set of toiletries were provided except body lotion, while towels were changed daily. Both room and bathroom were impeccably clean.
Breakfast at the Frangiorgio Hotel Larnaca
Taking the lift to the rooftop the first morning, I was delighted to step into the restaurant. What a delightful surprise this was! Modern and spacious, with a pleasant ambience, nicely set and arranged tables, with wall to ceiling windows. It was so bright out there and on the sidewall, the carefully arranged buffet!
The choice is plentiful with nothing missing and enough to keep you full for hours! I remember how I enjoyed the spinach and cheese pies, the homemade cakes, and a couple of others I miss right now.
I need here to mention that at the same level with the restaurant, on the opposite side, a door leads to a nicely arranged area with umbrellas and sunbeds; however, the time I visited had already stopped operating, so I could not take photos! The swimming pool is small in size, but it can provide the expected ambience, satisfaction and pleasure, that guests expect out of it during the hot summer months. Drinks and snacks from the pool bar, of course, while Larnaca’s beach promenade is just a five-minute walk for those who prefer the beach to the pool.
Just for the record, the hotel’s 24-hour mini-market remains open throughout the day and night. What a relief to find everything you need to buy just a floor below where you stay! There is a variety of goods, not to mention that, besides groceries, you can buy magazines, newspapers or telephone cards. It is of great help to the guests and surely, highly appreciated.
Verdict
The Frangiorgio Hotel Larnaca is welcoming and friendly with excellent accommodation, and it is unique for year-round short city breaks. It has won the appreciation of holiday guests and is highly recommended to anyone interested in the attractions, sights, nightlife and activities that Larnaca has to offer.
