Value for Money
Hotel Golden City Garni – Prague, is in the area of Zizkov and is considered a great base for exploring Prague. The hotel is just a short walk from the heart of the City and all of its many attractions, including the Old Town and Wenceslas Square. It has fantastic transport links, with a tram stop in front of the hotel and very ckise to Prague’s main Train Station, Free internet and Wi Fi access only in the lobby.

The 3* star Hotel Golden City Garni in Prague was my pick when 3 friends requested that I help them spot the right hotel to spend 3 days in Prague. Priority was given to the value of money and location. It was not that hard to spot this business and I was anxious to see if my choice was the right one.

I was more or less aware from a previous visit to Prague that Zizkov has this unique bohemian atmosphere and I had the feeling that if I spot the right accommodation the 3 friends would not be disappointed.
Rooms
Finally, they booked two rooms at the attic on the 4th floor. The more spacious one overlooked the busy street but there was noise coming in from the tram in the evening till very late.

Coming here from the Airport takes 1h20 -by bus 119. Take the Tram 26, wishing to use tram (3 stops from the centre).

There was no complain for noise for the single room though. So you better have this in mind to avoid unpleasant surprises if you choose to stay here, otherwise everything else was ok.

The Single Room
Both rooms at the Hotel Golden City Garni were clean and functional with basic kitchenette facilities but with no complimentary coffee/tea sachets to use. You could just as well bring along your own or have breakfast outside like the three friends did. There is also this small ice box to keep fruit or water cool, and even a microwave.The service was good and the staff friendly and helpful.

Verdict
The breakfast buffet is basic here, but it is charged extra so the friends decided to skip it and had theirs at a neighbouring cafe. In all, the Hotel Golden City Garni in Prague proved a good budget choice for the three friends. The hotel is recommended for short stays!
