Perfect in Every way
The InterContinental Doha Hotel is 1-minute walk from the beach and at the best rated location in Doha, on its own private beach. The property offers 5-star luxury in the West Bay area. With a large outdoor swimming pool, free Wi Fi throughout the property and rooms, the lavish hotel features flood-lit tennis courts, squash courts and beach volleyball. Nearby attractions include The Pearl Qatar, 3 km away.
Lobby
We longed to return to the InterContinental Doha Hotel and this time we are here for 3 nights.
Check-in was quick and efficient and the staff at the reception were extremely friendly. We were offered a refreshing drink while our luggage was carried up to the room, but we remained for a while in the lobby to enjoy our drink and then, escorted upstairs to our suite.

Room
We entered our Double Guest Room #323 to find the cable welcoming notice which was a nice touch. Intercontinental rooms are consistently high quality, something I’ve come to truly appreciate. With more of a business feel, the room fit my personal style. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. There was much light coming in the room from the huge double glazed windows which happened to cover completely a whole wall. The room was impeccably clean and well equipped. The interior had an Arab twist but what it did not have was a balcony. Like most other hotels in Doha, the InterContinental Doha Hotel was not an exception. The room was overlooking the parking lot so this was the only thing that let us down.
There was a working desk with a side multi-socket auxiliary panel on the side. This handy gadget saved us time from calling and asking for an adaptor. Coffee/tea facilities, a safe, a minibar, and an iron board were provided. Especially the latter is something I highly appreciate when I find it in my closet. The room had it all. The welcoming treat accompanied with a card from the management was as always appreciated.
Bathroom
Housekeeping staff were extremely courteous and helpful. Just call them if you need anything and they will be at your service in seconds.
The bathroom was spacious with a separate walk in shower and a bathtub. Spotlessly clean with fresh bright-white towels, scales, robes and slippers as well as a hair dryer.
Toiletries are the “Agraria San Francisco” brand, well known products with a generous amount of fragrance of lemon verbena and a touch of citrus.
Fitness Center
The fully equipped Health Club offers a 24 hours gym, providing sauna, steam room, pool, beach, squash, volleyball and tennis courts; facilities are free to the guests who stay at the hotel. I only went to the gym once out of lack of time. Instead we were out in the city taking photos, which is my other passion.
Pool
The hotel has an expansive freedom pool with loungers scattered around in the beautiful garden. The sailing academy offers a host of water sports while the gardens look like an irresistible oasis for relaxation and fun.

Breakfast
The Coral is the restaurant with a cosmopolitan blend of Asian, Arabic, International and Mediterranean cuisines. It is among the signature restaurants of Doha and we would come here for breakfast and dinner daily. The interior incorporates luxury accents with comfortable atmosphere.
The breakfast buffet had a plethora of options. Particularly I loved the exotic fruit and the fresh orange juice. My husband loved the pastries a lot…they were tempting and he could not resist that easily.
The service during our stay at the InterContinental Doha hotel was flawless. The staff were punctual and were there when we needed them the most.

Bouzouki Night at Mykonos Restaurant
A year earlier and in the capacity of a food critic, we were invited at Mykonos for lunch checking the quality of the cuisine and tastes. That experience was interesting and I was impressed with the seafood quality, the friendliness of the staff, the top-notch service and the location as well. The most incredible was that after spending the three nights here, we returned once again for the “Bouzouki Night”. This time we had VIP invitations from the Greek Embassy. I could never have imagined that we would be surrounded by Greeks and Cypriots living in Doha, with plate smashing while savouring the Greek and Cypriot delicacies. A very pleasant Greek evening to remember here at the InterContinental Doha Hotel.
Verdict
The InterContinental Doha Hotel is definitely one of our top choices. I would not think twice about recommending it to family members and friends. Our stay was amazing, the service throughout was wonderful and overall we enjoyed every moment spent here.
