Larnaca Island Boutique Hotel is a fantastic family-run business with stylish public spaces and well-appointed, open the year-round. Its prime beach-front location on the famous Blue Flag Makenzie Beach provides total escapism and laid-back holiday vibes without having to step in a car to get to a nearby beach.
This was meant to be the first day of my arrival, I was in my hometown where my house and family lives, so I spent the whole day with them. In the meantime, I gave them a call and arranged to check-in after sunset. You see, while in Larnaca a year back, I visited the Larnaca Island Boutique Hotel, met its owners and requested a short tour to assure it covers my expectations. The reason I am back is that this visit left me totally satisfied so, here I am spending the first three nights out here where my hometown is.
I particularly liked the design of the Larnaca Island Boutique Hotel exudes. It brings a contemporary, calming aesthetic to the coast, and reflects a commitment to quality. From the moment you step in, you can’t help it but like the interior ambience of the ground floor, not to mention that the beach was also steps away. Its distinct white-washed architecture, the splash of opulence and colour will tickle your senses.
Larnaca Island Boutique Hotel
The stylish 3-star Larnaca Island Boutique Hotel offers a choice of 18 in all rooms and suites and enjoys breathtaking views to unbeatable sunrises over the calm Mediterranean blue waters. It takes inspiration from the city’s laid-back marine, coastal culture. I bet during your own stays, you would also feel totally at home out here like myself, wandering around in a pair of shorts and flip flops.
My sister drove me here promptly just as we had agreed where we had a warm and amiable welcome over a friendly chat and remained for a while downstairs getting information regarding the time of breakfast and dinner before taking the lift to the suite.
Suite 301 Larnaca Island Boutique Hotel
The open-plan rectangular suite 301 felt fresh, clean and spacious. It featured a nicely equipped little sitting room upon entering with a handy stand on the side of a sleeping sofa. A wardrobe fitted with ironing facilities, and a safe deposit box, a corner-stand for the Coffee/Nespresso facilities and a small fridge underneath.
The king-size bed was super comfy, and in general, I could not fault anything in the suite. It seemed evident that everything has been planned in the least detail for the comfort of guests.

Right next to the bed, a second relaxed sitting area created by a similar sofa-bed overlooking the wall satellite HD TV and the multifunctional working desk.
In the morning, the suite was filled with light as I kept the double-glazed window-door open, only to listen to the lapping waves upon the coast throughout the night. I rose from bed at 5:30 am although I could easily make the most of the very comfortable king size bed and snooze for at least a couple of hours more.
My excitement and anxiety though were to see what I would come across after drawing the curtains. I firstly walked all the way to the other end of the suite overlooking the city.

A vast orange circle standing in the distance, a full moon bigger and brighter than usual, and an unexpected warm breeze that happily surprised me filled the sitting room. Pure bliss!
At the other end of the suite, I was greeted by a spectacular sea view out to the Mediterranean and knew that the holiday out here has begun.
I made myself a cup of coffee, covered up by a robe, set the camera ready for the first shooting and stepped outside the balcony. People were already out, some walking, jogging, others exercising, and a few were already swimming.
The beach across the hotel was well organized, sandy with shallow waters that steadily get deeper. The sea temperature was pleasant and much warmer to what we have in Greece in June or July. People in Cyprus exercise a lot, and you can see groups of friends jogging out in the street as early as 5:30 most of whom walk to the beach, swim and return home before they leave for work.
The pace of life in general in Cyprus is more relaxed and easy-going I believe! I have attached a video for you to watch if you wish. Find it attached to the highlight stories of my Instagram posts under the name Larnaca Island Boutique Hotel.
Average in size, the bathroom featured a walk-in shower with a colourful tiled wall with wall soap dispenser, with a second one by the hand basin piece of furniture. Underneath robes, slippers as well as towels, all bright white smelling freshness, a complete set of toiletries and a hairdryer.
Restobar of the Larnaca Island Boutique Hotel
The Restobar of the Larnaca Island Boutique Hotel offers a splendid view. Part of it is right on the coast, and it is nicely furnished with a pleasant ambience. Guests out here can tuck into all-day snacks, starting from breakfast, enjoy light snacks through the day, and in the evening challenge their palates with tempting options from the a la carte menu.
Breakfast at the Larnaca Island Boutique Hotel
At breakfast, the buffet variety was plentiful and tastes and quality excellent. What a fantastic way to start your day! The buffet had everything you could expect out of a 4*star hotel actually and not a 3*one. From eggs and lovely omelette choices to bacon, ham and variety of cheese and yoghurt, to grilled mushrooms and tomatoes, dry and fresh seasonal fruit, and homemade marmalades. Nothing, honestly nothing was missing! Don’t miss checking the Instagram set of photos to see how I captured the full moon that first evening.

In the capacity of a Food Critic, in the kitchen, I pointed a couple of minor things that needed improvement, but on the whole, the food was not only tasty but also nicely presented. The dish that made the difference was the Fish Soup which had a lovely texture and was rich in flavour.
Larnaca happens to be my hometown, and I am very proud of it. The weather was beautiful, and it allowed me to take long walks to the other side of the city on foot, mostly to exercise, all days I was here. Larnaca has changed so much the recent years and each time I am back I get more and more excited not only because I am back to my beautiful Cyprus, but I have fallen in love with my hometown.
