Leonardo Hotel Budapest is located at the flourishing business district Ferencváros a few minutes walking distance from the city center and the Danube. No other 4-star hotel in Budapest is as close to the airport. The hotel ensures convenient traveling and is perfect for leisure and business travelers alike
We spent 2 nights in all at this hotel on our way to Prague, and one more on our return. The service was average
The hotel was a choice of the travel agency that arranged for the trip and we were along with 40 more acquaintances of ours. Leonardo Hotel Budapest is located in a quiet neighborhood but not central. There are shops in the round area, a small square with one or two coffee shops and a pub just opposite the hotel. Upon arrival they treated the whole group with a welcoming glass of orange juice which was a nice treat.
We had our room upgraded the first two nights. It was the suite 602 up on the attic. Although we judged it was small, it was clean and cozy. No tea/coffee facilities, just 2 bottles of water

One negative was the bed which was extremely soft for our likes. The slightest move of the hand could wake up the other person. It was that soft that I checked if it was a water bed!
The towels in the bathroom were bright white, as well as the cover bedspread. Air conditioning and the mini bar in the room were working fine. No bad comments here. None of the group had something negative to comment on this
When we met with the group for dinner, several complained about the size of their rooms. A few described theirs as dungeons but I could not believe them until I checked myself. They were right, the rooms were extremely small, but they were given better rooms when we were here again for one more evening returning from Prague. We mentioned this to the reception and when we were back, we all had average sized rooms. Our room this second time was 443.
Breakfast was more than adequate with omelets, sausages with nice mustard, yoghurt, fruit salad, variety of cakes, cheese and ham and oatmeal porridge
The dinner buffet had plenty of salads to choose from, however the group had to choose from 2 different dishes which were served directly from the kitchen
Portions were average, but the whole group complained about the high cost of wine and beer
There was an incident at a point with two members of the group who seemed quite demanding but the matter was solved instantly with the help of the Restaurant manager. The service could do better though!
On the whole I recommend this hotel for its value. The location isn’t too bad but still a bit outside the center. If we were here on vacation, we would definitely want to stay a bit closer although it is 3-metro stops from the city center. Several rooms will be refurbished during the months of January and February 2018, so this is comforting.
