Powerful, Inventing & Courageous flavors!
The Seasons Oriental restaurant of the Four Seasons Hotel, ranks first on the list of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Cyprus. I have been visiting it for a number of years and the food and service are always consistently excellent. If you are craving for the best of Chinese food, this is the place to be and certainly there is none similar in Cyprus!
Culinary delicacies from the Far East is what best describes the Cantonese specialties prepared by the kitchen Executive Hong Kong Chef, Kenny Keung. He cooks with passion and every dish is better than the previous.
Appetizers and Dumplings
This time Kenny made a special menu for me for this culinary tasting experience, and whatever was included was exactly what I like. I guess after all these years that he knows me, literally he is aware of my preferences –addicted as I am to seafood, vegetables and less on meat.
We start off with the Black Tiger Prawn, delicious with a perfectly crunchy crust. The Steamed Prawn dumpling with Bamboo shoots and Diced Asparagus are favourite, just as the Bay Scallop. The latter has a bouncy bite and dulcet taste. Both supreme!
The wine list of the Seasons Oriental includes a top selection of the best wines that could perfectly accompany a refined meal. We have a great Rosé to accompany our meal recommended by the sommelier. Stalo, is actually the sommelier at the Seasons Oriental and was always on hand to recommend our wine choices. Trained and knowledgeable she is a true professional.
Seafood next, and we have the Crispy Tiger Prawns paired with Asparagus, shredded dried Scallops, garnished with chili black beans and diced peppers. What a flavoring delight! Our meal is further enhanced by the superb service from the ever attentive staff who as always are a credit to themselves and restaurant. Attentive, polite and discreet, I can find no fault.
For the main the enticing Beef Tenderloin is highly recommended and is served on a sizzling pot. (Fresh ginger and spring onions flavored with Hua Diao Wine and Abalone sauce) The beef tenderly juicy soaking in the Abalone sauce… every bite leaves you wanting more. An array of delicious side Vegetarian dishes follow –all exquisite and mouthwatering that if I were to be asked which I liked less, honestly I could not find an answer.
The Sautéed Baby Spinach topped with Enoki Mushrooms and Abalone sauce is a delight just as the healthy stir Manitoba wild rice, -the very best I have ever had. Words would fail me if I attempt to describe it. Imagine the taste of assorted vegetables, chestnuts and minced ginger sprinkled with Spring Onions. A ‘must try’ dish!
The steamed Chinese Napa Cabbage is another excellent choice with an irresistible presentation and terrific taste. Diced Bay Scallops and fresh chopped garlic, premium Soya Sauce and smoked sesame oil. Supper yummy, light and refreshing. To finish off the evening I requested something light and finally I went for the Deep fried Banana with salted caramel and Goji berries served with vanilla ice cream. Crispy, golden and sugary the choice was yummy!
Seasons Oriental offers sublime tastes as always! Classic Chinese, has retained both its quality and value over the years. The culinary experience exceeded my highest expectations once again. Well done Chef Kenny, it was indeed a delectable journey to Asian flavours, with ingredients and tastes I love. I enjoyed it to the last bite! Everything good said about the Seasons Oriental is true. Hurry make your reservations much ahead for the festive season!
