St George Rotunda in Sofia is an early Christian red-brick church, considered the oldest structure in Sofia to have persevered in its original structure intact from the ground up. For three centuries it was converted into a mosque.

The five layers of frescoes found in St George Rotunda are from the time the Romans built the rotunda in the fourth century AD.
Most striking frescoes are those from the tenth century, magnificent murals of 22 prophets over two meters high that crown the dome, along with an angel highlighting the face of a good-looking young man.

Once in a while, classical music concerts and solemn military ceremonies use the church setting for live performances.
