The Royal Apollonia is within the Louis Hotels Collection and embraces everything I enjoy about hospitality experience. The hotel is included on their Premium List and once again, has been awarded, ranking 14th best luxury hotel in Cyprus the years 2017 and 2018 on TripAdvisor.

The Royal Apollonia

Before arriving and as a repeater, I already knew that The Royal Apollonia was exactly the type of hotel I love to stay in; great location, stylish with top-notch service. What I didn’t know, however, was that I had been upgraded and that I was about to check in to the hotel’s Honeymoon Suite!

The Lobby and Communal areas

The Royal Apollonia

Cyprus’ exciting capital Limassol mixes great beaches with a sophisticated Mediterranean metropolis. The Royal Apollonia five-star hotel puts its guests in just the right place to discover both, plus style and comfort. The hotel is only a 5 km drive for downtown with a bus stop right across the street.

The Royal Apollonia

The Royal Apollonia

The hotel’s relaxing vibe extends throughout! The main communal areas with a contemporary clean-line style, offer distinguished comfort, and a pleasant ambience. The lobby, on the other hand, is spacious, airy and nicely decorated. The area towards the main pool just off the lobby was a great place to relax in the evenings as well. Overall, the outdoor seating overlooking the pool and the beautiful Mediterranean Sea is all very high end in feel.

Check-in

The Royal Apollonia

Upon arrival, the head porter helps with the luggage and escorts me to the reception desk to check-in. Seconds later, standing by the reception desk, I am greeted warmly and the young girls of the team who were very polite, offer me a cool drink and chocolates. Check in was quick and efficient and soon after I was heading to the lift and up to the 6th floor to spot my suite.

The Honeymoon Suite

The Royal Apollonia

Walking through the door of the 56 m² Honeymoon Suite of the Royal Apollonia was a pretty special moment. The spacious suite had bold and contemporary interiors and was fantastic.

The Royal Apollonia

The Royal Apollonia

With a large open plan living room, plush carpeting throughout, separate kitchen facilities and dining area, a stocked mini bar, the suite was incredibly beautiful. There was a TV set with satellite channels both in the living room and in the bedroom.

Living room

The Royal Apollonia

The spacious living room comprises of two sofas, a big sitting room table and two side ones.  The huge bouquet of the most fragrant Sonata Lilies with their soft silken colours filled the interior with their subtle scent. The honeymoon suite indeed offers the ultimate comfort and luxury with its quality interior -perfect for a romantic escape!

The Royal Apollonia

The View from the Suite

The Royal Apollonia

It was that iconic gorgeous ‘summertime-view’ of the Sea, every visitor in Cyprus dreams of arriving to, and waking up to.’

Bedroom

The Royal Apollonia

The bedroom was great too, spacious with a separate balcony a full-length standing mirror and a functional dressing table with lots of drawers. There was a double closet on the side wall, and another on the opposite with lots of hangers, as well as an iron and iron board. It was a huge blessing as there never seems to be enough closet space in several hotels!

A Cloud-like Bed with View to the Mediterranean

The Royal Apollonia

The bed at The Royal Apollonia Honeymoon Suite was without a doubt one of the best beds I slept for years. After a long day of enjoying the sunshine and the sea, I would climb into a luxurious king-size bed and drift off into a blissful sleep. The sheets were silky soft, the pillows fluffy and the mattress below felt like a cloud. There was no better feeling than crashing into this bed and relax after a very energetic day. I loved that the suite was high up to the top floor and there was none noise disruption, -only the lapping of the wave on the coast. The honeymoon suite exceeded all of my expectations.

Complimentary Treats

The Royal Apollonia

The surprise complimentary treat was very much appreciated. When I walked into the suite, I noticed that on the table in the kitchen there was a nice assortment of fresh flowers, seasonal fruit and a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a welcoming note from the management. Thank you, Royal Apollonia!

I can’t fault anything – housekeeping and turndown were great and prompt every night. The second evening when I returned to the room the maid left for me a towel art on the bed. A thoughtful touch!

Bathroom

The Royal Apollonia

On the counter, a full set of amenities and a set of the Liberty brand toiletries. Bathrobes and towels were of excellent quality, crisp and bright.

The Royal ApolloniaThe bathroom in the Honeymoon Suite was very ample with a double vanity sink, a soaking Jacuzzi bathtub, and on the opposite side separately a walk-in energizing shower-cabin and the toilet.

Style and Character

What I like about the Royal Apollonia is that they know well how to treat their clients as part of the ‘family’.

Beach

The Royal Apollonia

The Royal ApolloniaI made the most of the beautiful weather of Cyprus. The water was lovely and the sandy beach pristine, especially in the early hours that I used to go there for my morning exercising. I was back on the beach for hours daily sunbathing and swimming.

Pools

The infinity pool is, without a doubt, the most photographed hotel spot. The grounds are stunning, and they work around the clock keeping it nice.

The Royal Apollonia Spa

The Royal Apollonia

The Royal Apollonia hotel is home to The Royal Spa by name. The wellness area offers a plethora of Hydrotherapy Bath Treatments, Body Exfoliations, Dead Sea Body Treatments and more. Dining Options

The Royal Apollonia

I was on HB and had the time to dine in all three restaurants of the Royal Apollonia. In the capacity of a Food Critic, I had the pleasure to try several dishes from their different cuisines.

Dionysos Restaurant – Local and International Cuisine

The Royal Apollonia

Overlooking the beautiful grounds of The Royal Apollonia a reserved table was waiting for us. I was here with a friend and we could not stop admiring the colour of the horizon that night, the pool and the coast while enjoying our meal. The diverse buffet in the evening at Dionysos main Restaurant showcased a wide array of Local and International cuisine. The Cooks use fresh quality products and achieve exquisite tastes and happy guests.

The Royal Apollonia

You can find here fabulous salads, plates of pasta, elegant mains, meat dishes and delectable desserts. Be sure to indulge in the local cuisine. I bet you will love it! The staff was very friendly and the service excellent, but special mention goes to Odiatis, Brian, Coral but also the very friendly and chatty Rafael. He was of great help, recommending for us the perfect choice of rose wine to pair with our meal.

The Akakiko Restaurant

The Royal Apollonia

Being fond of Japanese cuisine I dropped by along with a friend and tried some of the restaurant’s dishes. The terrace had a lovely atmosphere, tables well set with a relaxed summer vibe, ideal to enjoy an evening meal. Pairing wine, the Mateus Rose!

Our Maki Choice

The Royal Apollonia

We started off with the Miso Shiru Soup, tasty and flavoursome! There were Sushi, Sashimi and Makis on the menu and we came up with the four types below.  The time spent to decide was on our side because we must have made the best choice!

The Royal Apollonia

The Kamo Maki, Pikatsu, Candlestick, as well as the Godzilla Roll is what we had and all four were fresh and of excellent taste. Our palate experienced a harmony of all different flavours. I could feel the sourness of the vinegar in the rice, the saltiness of soy sauce, the pungent kick of wasabi and sweetness of its rice. Try them, and you won’t be disappointed!

The Royal Apollonia

I love Popcorn Shrimps, especially when golden and have a tangy flavour! Ours though were overcooked and lacked crunchiness.

Main course

The Royal Apollonia

All our three choices -the Akakiko Tepan, the Yasai Itame, and the Duck Sweet & Sour, were of average taste although nicely presented! The service was prompt and the staff friendly and well trained. Thank you, Anna, and Andreas! Favourite dishes, all four Maki choices and the Soup!

Meze by Elliniko Restaurant

The Royal Apollonia

Specializing in Traditional Greek cuisine, the Meze by Elliniko is the signature restaurant of the Royal Apollonia. The menu is based on innovative recipes. If you like Greek food which I would hope that you do, then I am sure you will enjoy your time at this restaurant.

The Royal Apollonia

I would highly recommend giving it a try. For my detailed report check the Meze by Elliniko dining experience! The Royal Spa, Limassol experience!

My Verdict

My recent stay at the Royal Apollonia exceeded my expectations! Fabulous as always, continues to be a steady value. Well kept, the whole hotel concept works a treat and the beach setting is just perfect. Service was excellent too, and I cannot fault it in any way. I seriously recommend it.
