Westin Resort Costa Navarino is a traditional, luxury hotel located near the beach in an unspoilt Peloponnese coast in Messinia. The resort has a village feel, with cafes, bars and an open-air cinema. The round area boasts about its historic surroundings and nature reserves to explore. Entrance to the Resort is only allowed to guests with a valid reservation, thus residents can rest assured as the area is guarded and highly supervised. We were made welcome with friendly smiles and check in was processed in around 5 minutes, time enough to freshen up with a wet towel brought to us along with a welcoming drink. We spent 4 memorable nights at the Westin Resort Costa Navarino as part of a combined Press visit.

Westin Resort Costa Navarino Entrance

The beauty of nature and feeling of luxury are eye-catching right upon passing the guard’s gate. Entrance to the resort is only allowed to guests with a valid reservation so residents can rest assured as the area is guarded and highly supervised. From the moment we set foot in the Resort, from the concierge to courteous reception staff and management, the service was top notch. Very polite and responsive check-in. Our records were kept from the previous visit so it was a matter of a few minutes. On the whole, the professional and well-trained staff throughout, were accommodating and extremely friendly thus we enjoyed high-quality personalized service focused on the slightest detail.

Ok then…come along to show you around

It is wonderful how the genuine desire from the owners was to highlight the region, on the whole, offering jobs and work to locals and at the same time preserving the natural beauty and heritage of this outstanding part of Greece. Opportunities are offered to savour the historical, cultural and photographic landscape richness of the area. The beauty of nature and feeling of luxury are eye-catching right upon passing the guard’s gate. The atmosphere throughout the resort is second to none, elegant and classy with marble columns and no limit to luxury.

The property is majestic! The interior of the Resort is just as breathtaking as its surroundings. On the whole, it features low-rise residences built using native stone. The architectural style inspired as it is from old traditional homes and mansions of the region, lies in perfect harmony with the long sandy beach and pristine hillside setting.

Westin Resort Costa Navarino Room #5790

View from the suite

Our own immaculate suite # 5790 was housed on the main building overlooking the gardens, the pool and the sea. I don’t intend to refer in detail to amenities or facilities but in short, I can tell that the suite had exactly the required comfort to meet the needs of extremely demanding guests.

I am happy every time I climb into a comfy bed. Our superb King size bed with duvet covering and pillows preserved a state of constant serenity. Bright linens, spotless and fragrant. The only downside was the pillows that were too soft and unhandy. The complimentary treat was highly appreciated, and water was provided daily.

Bathroom

The bathroom was spacious, elegant with a sliding glass window for direct access to the bedroom and the view outside. With a bathtub in the main bathroom and separate space for the toilet and walk-in shower. It was really fantastic. Toiletries for pampering are the hotel’s brand but for extra pampering be sure to visit the marvellous Anazoe Spa Westin Costa Navarino. I had a treatment and spent several hours there.

Beach

The beach is absolutely gorgeous. Families are well looked after as well as the Westin Resort Costa Navarino has some of the best facilities of any hotel worldwide. Two brilliant kids clubs accommodate children up to the age of 12 and allow them to enjoy a range of fun activities whilst also making new friends along the way. Outside of the kids club the Westin also has a large swimming pool with slides, a full-size sports hall, ten-pin bowling lanes, rock climbing walls and a small museum where children and parents can learn about the local wildlife and the surrounding environment.

The resort is spread out over a vast area set back from a stretch of caramel coloured sandy beach and deep blue waters. The water was lovely and the beach pristine.

Breakfast

Morias Restaurant, Costa Navarino is the major restaurant of the Westin Resort Costa Navarino and it is here where guests take their breakfast each morning.  Check the separate article for more.

‘Barbouni’ -a favourite seafood restaurant

Pools

Anazoe Spa Westin Costa Navarino

This 40,000 square foot spa is larger than life. The facilities are some of the best I have seen in any spa I have visited in the world. Impressed with the facilities and the level of service. The spa offers an exceptional menu of speciality treatments based on ancient Greek health and beauty practices, utilizing the area’s exclusive natural ingredients and unique products. The facilities were well-kept, tidy and modern.

The award-winning Anazoe Spa Westin Costa Navarino also has several signature treatments based on the teachings of Hippocrates, the ‘father’ of western medicine. On a separate article, you can check the exclusive review of the Anazoe Spa Westin Costa Navarino experience.

Entertainment

The facilities for families are awesome–there is a full four-lane bowling alley, basketball court, pool tables, Playstation consoles, private movie theatre and also a museum about the local area and environment where kids are encouraged to learn about being green. Sandcastle is for a bit older children, not to mention the Aqua Park! There are spacious game areas, slides, design and drawing workshop and a theater-style courtyard.

You are lost for choice in activities! Guests can enjoy sailing trips, golf at the destination’s two signature golf courses, the18-hole Dunes Course designed by Bernhard Langer with EGD and the 18-hole Bay Course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, Navarino Racquet Academy with a choice of nine racquet sports, and 5 a-side football court, along with a varied program of cultural and leisure activities.

A paradise for golf lovers

A lovely experience the Oil Tasting is something not to be missed

There are so many unique and inspiring things to keep you happy and active other than what you might expect out of beach holidays; from cooking classes to Olive harvesting, Wine master-class, Olive oil tasting, Astronomy nights, Art and Botanical tour, philosophy walks… the list is long!

Verdict

Staying at the Westin Resort Costa Navarino, was a treat indeed. Our stay was absolutely flawless. The food, location, service and facilities were above and beyond. It is the perfect Greek getaway combining romance and culture, with mouthwatering gourmet experiences and healthy amounts of Mediterranean sun. Guests get spoiled with the care and attention, the region is unspoiled and beautiful with much to offer, so make this your destination this year. There is nothing like having holidays at the Costa Navarino, so if you are that demanding, this is the place to be.

  1. Spent a whole week three years ago, and planning to return this summer.
One of the best hotels in Greece.

  2. I am glad I stepped into your review Popi. We are planning our vacation to be in the Peloponnese this year. It seems one of the hotels we most likely to be staying. Friends recommended it to us too.

  3. We are off to the Westin next month and I am already dreaming of this long break. Paradise for children and parents too…so much to do here!
