Pampered at the Ritz Carlton Doha
The Ritz-Carlton Doha is a 5-star luxury resort located in the West Bay. Great choice for travellers interested in beach, relaxation and family-friendly trips. This luxurious 5-star property boasts a world-class Spa, modern Fitness centre and eight elegant Restaurants and Bars. The property features indoor and outdoor swimming pools and lush landscaped gardens. As we approach the entrance there is the usual parade of white Range Rovers and Bentleys that attest to the wealth of the guests. They are locals’ favourite and you see them all over the city.
Entrance Lounge
The entire ground floor is vast and extremely glamorous. One might think that these huge in size places lack the personal touch. Definitely not the case with the Ritz Carlton Doha because it is not only way too popular, but the management knows well how to pamper guests.
The Ritz-Carlton Doha
The Ritz-Carlton Doha is situated on its own exclusive island resort and it is 10 minutes’ drive from the cultural center of Doha, Katara Cultural Village and is across the Lagoona Mall.
Due to the Eid Al Adha holidays the Ritz-Carlton Doha was overbooked the time we requested to stay, but we were offered an invitation to dine at the Lagoon Restaurant that special day of the Halloween. We were warmly welcomed by a member of the management, who after showing us around the ground floor, a bit of the gardens and a few upgraded suite-interiors we were happy to have Hanny joining us at dinner too.
Rooms
The specific suites combine the extravagant elegance and warmth of a traditional Arabian style while the scenic views from the guest rooms take in, Qatar peninsula and Doha’s skyline. Elegantly appointed rooms in a contemporary style, feature opulent fabrics, while striking calligraphy pieces adorn the walls.

Walking from one room to the other the corridors were a bit down calling for refurbishment. Light was dim in the rooms and fabrics extremely colourful, marble bathrooms and the Bvlgary collection.
The Halloween theme night
Well, Wednesday the 31st the day of the Halloween celebrations and we are here at the Ritz-Carlton Doha to enjoy this holiday atmosphere and try the cuisine of the restaurant.
The Lagoon Restaurant
We walk down the stairs and the first thing we see are happy children’s faces, all dressed up in their costumes, faces painted and a lovely seating dining corner with colourful chairs and little tables. Children seem to have finished their meal and busy by now having their kind of fun …luckily not in the Lagoon!

A happy and festive atmosphere, even waiters are in their costumes with lots of makeup and colour on their face.
The Lagoon restaurant is nicely decorated in the atmosphere of the day. Spacious with high ceiling and extremely impressive. Huge flower pots scattered here and there, open kitchen, an extended buffet and the light in the restaurant, very faint matching with the day…Halloween!
When it comes to accommodation I am always out for the very best. As far the food, I can try everything (even a bite) just for the experience but again I expect the best quality and taste out of fresh ingredients.
The nice presentation is also the other factor and at the Lagoon this special Halloween night everything is exceptional. A lavish buffet one we will remember. Besides the buffet which had everything one could imagine, there was a cook behind an open kitchen with open fire for those who preferred seafood …and what a relief for me!
Those who know me well would bet that I would go straight for seafood and get to the buffet just for salads. My choice this time is lobster, prawns and grilled fresh fish. We paired our meal with some fine white wine and finished off with some tempting dainty morsel and a fruity Mocktail

The Ritz-Carlton Doha is a 5-star luxury resort, and it was a delight to visit. We had a lovely company along and the staff we met were a bunch of professionals. The food had only high points and the meal was exceptional overall. We enjoyed the quality of service and also the beauty of this property.
