All Day Dining!

During a recent stay at the Hilton Cyprus, I had the opportunity to dine once again at the Fontana Restaurant Nicosia -a flagship restaurant, wherein the capacity of a Food critic I comment on the cuisine and our dining experience. My good friend the Executive Chef Andreas Georgiou and Christina his wife are no longer working here and their absence was conspicuous. They were the first persons I asked to see upon stepping foot in the Fontana Restaurant.

With such wide variety of Grilled options, Seafood, Salads and tempting Desserts I was lost for choice for a minute. Stelios Stylianou, the new Executive Sous Chef and a good friend, dropped by, thus his precious guidelines came in handy.

This time, at the Fontana Restaurant, we chose to sit outdoors by the pool since it was a lovely evening. With the company of good friends, I enjoyed every moment of this culinary trip to tastes.

We started off with Aperol Spritz and decided to keep to it instead of wine this time. It could seem a bit funny for some, but lately, I did it three or four times.

Starters

We had a playful presentation of 3 types of homemade bread accompanied by tomato and olive pasta. So yummy and tasty!

Salads

We had the Panache –greens with prosciutto chips, walnuts and caramelized pineapple, and the Kale Salad, with Halloumi cheese-flakes and cherry tomatoes, lime flavoured with honey and mustard dressing.

Main Course

Our choice for the main course, the Beef Fillet Steak which was complemented separately with a baked potato and boiled green veggies. The pepper sauce added a piquant flavour while the steak was tenderly juicy of exquisite taste!

Dessert for the end with two choices. The Caramelized Phyllo and the Poached Pear in white wine. Both nicely presented and yummy, it was hard to choose which was the best. Recommend both!

Verdict

Big thumbs up to the Chef and his team. From the top-notch service to the quality and presentation of the food to the exquisite tastes and the unique atmosphere, everything was second to none. Highly recommended for a romantic outing, a business lunch or a special occasion.

  1. The Hilton in Cyprus is indeed a great choice of a stay. Exceptional hospitality and excellent cuisine! I was there on a business trip recently with a team of other collegues. Very professional staff and a great location. I love reading your Cyprus tips as I plan to return to the island too, but this time for holidays!

  2. Your photos are so live Popi. Seems great restaurant definitely we shall be counting it in on our trip to Nicosia and why not checking at the Hilton this time as well. I will let you know.
