Poseidonia Beach Hotel, an upscale, favourite of mine family hotel and now being run by its owners, embraces everything I enjoy about hospitality experience. It enjoys a prime location in Limassol Bay by the sea, in Agios Tychon, Yermasoyia, minutes from the Amathus Ruins. This specific area is an excellent choice for travellers interested in beaches, relaxation and beach walk. Poseidonia Beach Hotel has everything that the business and leisure traveller would require from, and this is one of the reasons it has hundreds of devoted repeaters, one of whom myself who keep coming back. I always book directly through them, and this time I gave them a call to find that it was fully booked and they held my name on the list in case of a cancellation. Three days later I had their ok, so here I am once again to enjoy their excellent quality service and facilities.
The Lobby of the Poseidonia Beach Hotel
The lobby and ground floor, spacious and airy is beautifully decorated, and the relaxing vibe extends throughout. The central communal areas with a contemporary clean-line style, offer distinguished comfort as well.
The recent refurbishment just off the lobby has become a great place to relax in the evenings. Overall, the outdoor seating overlooking the pool and the beautiful Mediterranean Sea is all very high end in feel. Upon arrival, the head porter helps with the luggage and escorts me to the reception desk to check-in. It was like returning home ever after I stepped in the lobby! Familiar to me figures behind the reception desk, Chrysoula and Skevi welcome me warmly, with hugs and kisses to follow. The moment I am handed the key, Donna, another friend, shows up to greet me before I get to the suite and offers to join me for coffee, my welcoming drink before her upcoming meeting with some guests to arrange for a wedding. You see, she is involved with all kinds of events taking place out here, not to mention that the Poseidonia Weddings have become synonymous with romantic celebrations here at this fantastic Poseidonia Beach Hotel.

Poseidonia Beach Hotel stays true to its name. The story of Poseidon, God of the Sea in Greek Mythology, is still embedded and present, creating an environment that the owners aim to create an experience where guests can spend long life memories.
Suite 303 Poseidonia Beach Hotel
Upon entering my room, I noticed that I have a similar sea view suite to last year’s. The Executive sea view suite 303, though had a different assortment of some pieces of furniture and the mirror. I was amazed at how this little change made a huge difference. The interior now looked aesthetically more pleasing and functional at the same time.
My complimentary treat was a platter of seasonal fruit, water and a small bottle of wine which I highly appreciated. I did not spend much time in the suite as there are so many other things to keep somebody relaxed and happy outside but the suite and the hotel in general, oozes comfort, relaxation and all things a vacation in Cyprus demands.
A safe, a hairdryer as well as coffee/tea facilities and a daily supply of water are provided. The wardrobe was big enough, but one thing I did not bother to use was the TV. I bet the majority of guests don’t need one since there is so much to do at the hotel. Room service is provided, but this time I loved to enjoy my afternoon coffee or cocktail by the Wanax Bar/Restaurant instead.

Guess what! The first thing I did even before unpacking was to get to the balcony. How I missed this fantastic view of the Mediterranean waters, the outdoor pool below, palm trees and those gorgeous sunrises which remained vivid in mind from last year’s visit. The green surroundings and natural light that flooded my room made me feel so relaxed.
Lots of exciting activities take place regularly that I would recommend that you stay close to their updates on Facebook. I noticed some discounts for the festive season lately through their web, but to be absolutely sure that you won’t miss further discounts why not joining as Member! Find more on their website. Bathroom 303 Suite Poseidonia Beach Hotel
The bathroom was spacious enough, well lit with a bathtub and plenty of hot water in satisfying pressure. Towels were changed daily, and slippers, toiletries and bathrobes were provided.
Sunrise view from the Poseidon Beach Hotel
Corner suits on the right-hand side of the hotel enjoy not only the sunrise but sunset as well. Let me show you a few of these captions during my stay. Imagine that I slept over the sound of the lapping of waves against the shore with the balcony double-glazed sliding door half-open the two nights I was here. It pays to rise from bed early, enough to catch the crack of dawn. Don’t you think I did the right thing? If you had had a similar chance to catch the sunrise, wouldn’t you do the same, or would prefer to sleep?
When I am out travelling I rarely ever sleep past sunrise as I feel I must make every attempt to capture the early morning beauty and this is when I get some of my best photographs. I do have patience and wait for the perfect moment.
In general, I try to focus on the most beautiful times of the day for photography -the golden hours, sunrises and sunset, the blue hours of twilights. I don’t easily get discouraged. Instead, I like to practice. It is like a game!

I take a ton of photos and keep experimenting with angles, focal lengths and time of day but also do my best to provide a sense of place by adding additional elements to the scene that speak to the place I am photographing which instantly give it an identification.
Breakfast – Aegean Coffee Shop
Taken on the ground floor overlooking the beach, guests can enjoy a certified Cypriot breakfast in buffet style. The interior is nicely decorated and has access to the beach-front with outdoor seating. Guests can savour from an extensive breakfast buffet that covers everything your heart desires for your morning meal with a choice of cold cuts and cheeses, freshly made eggs, cooked in front of the guests, waffles and pastries, fresh and canned fruit, rice pudding and so many more!
Poseidon Restaurant -Dining
I dined here at the Poseidon Restaurant twice. The diverse buffet showcased a wide array of local and international cuisine. The Restaurant is located right across the reception and is elegantly decorated overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and gardens.
Guests can enjoy a different culinary theme menu every night. I had the luck to try both the a la carte and buffet at the relaxed setting of the terrace. I enjoyed every bite finding tastes exquisite on both evenings.
I highly recommend the Falafel that I had the first night the nicely presented dish which the Executive Chef Mr Panayiotou is holding in the photo above. Who doesn’t know Falafel, the staple dish of the Middle East!

Dessert Choice at the Poseidonia Beach Hotel
Friends and followers who know me well, know that I seldom take anything sweet; instead, I go for fruit. This time, the desserts here were not only nicely presented but irresistible. Perfect in every way with the right balance of sweetness, I nibbled a bit, without regrets.
The Trident Bar of the Limassol Poseidonia Beach Hotel
The new look and outdoor seating by the pool is fantastic. I watched a live belly-dancing performance with a friend out here, the first evening after dinner. Wishing to spot the little video, search it through the highlights’ file under the name of the hotel on my Instagram account.
The Outdoor Pool
The outdoor swimming pool is spacious, with plenty of loungers and bar service. The views again were overwhelming. I would spend much of the day lazing either by the beach or the pool, enjoying the beautiful views and sipping refreshing drinks. Mind you, during the winter months they have it covered and heated.
The Wanax Mediterranean Tapas Bar
Literally, I did not leave the premises of the hotel this time as I did on previous times I was here. Instead, I would have my afternoon cup of coffee by the Wanax Mediterranean Tapas Bar, which happens to be the newest addition to the hotel.
Its first year of operation and the Wanax was selected as one of the top 10 beach bars in Limassol offering signature Cocktails and Tapas food. A friend of mine was here with a group of friends a couple of times during summer and was telling me of live bands playing, great cocktails and tasty food. I want to believe I will manage to experience all these on my next visit.
Keep Updated with the Poseidonia Beach Hotel Activities
Well-appointed parasols and sunbeds cover a big part of the grassy space opposite the beach, with several more by the pool. The animation program is varied with all sorts of competitions keeping guests busy and happy. Besides the outdoor swimming pool which is covered and heated in winter as I mentioned above, there is a children’s pool as well. Check the website for the rest of the facilities as they are plentiful.
The Deity Spa Limassol Poseidonia Beach Hotel
As I was returning from the beach the second day, I dropped by to see what the Deity Spa had to offer to guests who were interested in treatments or using the facilities here. Anna, the supervisor, had an amiable personality and was kind enough to show me around at first and indicated the list of treatments offered. Before leaving the spa to have my afternoon cup of coffee, I booked a Back Massage, and what got me excited was that the time suited perfectly to have it after the jacuzzi session.
I spent a lot of time relaxing in the spa and the ‘private’ to me heated jacuzzi, which I had it all to myself for more than an hour. I rejuvenated with hydrotherapy from the massaging jets before proceeding for the back massage. The Deity Spa offers a wide choice from the classic Swedish Massage ideal for increasing flexibility to Anti_cellulite Massage, Hot Stone, Aromatherapy and several more. The skilful hands and massage techniques, Dorothy my therapist used, she achieved to ease away the ache and pain I had on my back and neck.
The Verdict
The Poseidonia Beach Hotel goes above and beyond to make its guests feel like one-of-a-kind. It stands out for first-class customer service and hospitality. The people here know well how to treat their guests and make them feel important and valued. It is open the-year-round so, make it your first choice if you plan to visit Cyprus any time of year.
