The Akakiko Limassol is the Japanese Restaurant of the Five Star Limassol Royal Apollonia, one of the most popular restaurants in the city. Its philosophy, the Easy Japanese fusion dining that blends authentic and delectable Asian cuisine with top quality service and value for money. The outdoor scenic views of the sea by the covered patio blends elegantly with the minimalistic decor and creates a welcoming and intimate atmosphere. On my recent stay at the hotel, I dined here with a friend. We were compelled to sit indoors that evening due to some heavy rain, but we still enjoyed the calm and very relaxed interior with its clean lines and an array of attractive design features and lighting hues.

Soup

The Akakiko Limassol

We started off with the Miso Shiro soup at the Akakiko Limassol, a traditional Japanese savoury one, naturally vegan and vegetarian. I found it mild with a balanced sweetness. I bet you will like it too.

Appetizers

The Akakiko Limassol

There is a variety of Sushi, Sashimi and Makis on the menu and our choice this time was the following four: The Kamo Maki, Pikatsu, Candlestick and the Godzilla Roll. All fresh with excellent tastes and our palate experiencing the harmony out of the four different flavours! I could feel the sourness of the vinegar in the rice, the saltiness of soy sauce, the pungent kick of wasabi and sweetness of its rice. Try them, and you won’t be disappointed! We accompanied our meal with a delicate Cypriot Rosé.

Main Course

The Akakiko Limassol

The service throughout at the Akakiko Limassol was prompt, while the staff was extremely courteous and well trained. For our main, we went for two choices from the Akakiko Tepan. Fresh and flavourful ingredients, crisp, vibrant vegetables though slightly saltier than I would have preferred and prawn juicy, cooked to perfection.

Dessert

I was not in a mood to have anything else, and I did not regret it. My friend had a platter of Mitsu fruit sashimi; one ball of ice cream, decorating in a way the melon pieces, but it proved a totally disappointing choice. The melon was so hard and lacking sweetness that it should never have been served in the first place!

The Akakiko Limassol

Bottom Line

The food was excellent, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant which was comfortable and elegant, just like the rest of the hotel. If you happen to visit the hotel, assure that you drop by The Limassol Royal Apollonia Spa, one of the best in Limassol, and if you are visiting Cyprus, check the Cyprus Travel Tips for First Time Visitors!
