The Kymi Palace Hotel in Evia is a family-friendly business and the best in its kind in the area. This was my second stay, but I was here at least three more times a few years back, present at wedding parties of friends. The property is ideally located in a quiet area and enjoys an amphitheatrical view right on the beachfront central road (Paraliaki Kymis). On the left-hand side, it overlooks the port of Kymi and the open, tranquil blue waters of the Aegean Sea, while there are several fish taverns, restaurants and café bars within a short distance and only 1.7 km from the town’s centre. The Kymi Palace Hotel offers a choice of 57 rooms in all, 6 of which are suites each with its private balcony or terrace.

Upon entering the reception area, you come across a bright and inviting functioning space with mild clean lines and contemporary decor. We were warmly welcomed, and our check-in was a matter of a few minutes. It was a Sunday the day of check-in, and I expected the hotel to be crowded. Aware of its popularity with wedding parties and social events, we arrived an hour earlier, hoping to find a secure parking space, and luckily we did.

The hotel was full just as the parking lot, nevertheless, by entering the lobby, we came across happy faces passing by, despite the crowded dining lounge a floor below that was hosting two or three social events at the same time.
Cheerful faces were enjoying the tempting delicacies of the buffet over pleasant music, from a brief look I had. The events were well organized with everything under control, thanks to the management, the team in the kitchen and the staff!
A level below the lobby, the dining lounge and the Bar area provide plenty of light coming in from the vast glass windows.

There is plenty of space between tables for the comfort of their guests, but what stands out here is the outside patio with its panoramic view.

The hotel bar is located adjacent to the Restaurant. It could be a great place to relax or get a bit of work done in the winter months. There is a wide variety of spirits and drinks available, including bar stools and separate tables to suit your needs.

Actually, we had the opportunity to choose between two different rooms on the same wing, finally picked the 503.
The room, similar to the rest, was spacious, airy and contemporary furnished, offering comfort and relaxation.
The multifunctional corner sofa was already set to be used as a second double bed for the girl, but after taking a photo, we decided to convert it into a sofa creating a relaxing sitting space for the two of us. The double bed comfortable enough provided us with a good night’s sleep.
There was a safe, and the small fridge helped to keep our water cooling, but no/coffee making facilities provided!

The double glazed door-window with its net offered a marvellous sight! All balconies equipped with tables and colourful plastic chairs and cross the beachfront, the neighbouring water-park. The times when the ferry was entering the port and when it sailed off were the best!
The Bathroom
The bathroom was spacious all right, equipped with a marble bathtub. What more, it was air-conditioned as well. The washbasin countertop provided space to fit all our toiletries, and there was plenty of hot water. Shower gel and shampoo were provided but not plastic caps or robes!

It is worth every penny when the poolside combines an unbeatable view. There are two sections to the pool with lounge chairs and umbrellas, and on the backside, a small kids pool. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves by and in the pool, taking in the magnificent view.
The water was a bit chilly at first, but we adjusted to it quickly. As the sun was rising in the sky, cast beautiful light onto the Aegean Sea, and we were well protected, if not in the pool swimming! We spent almost half of the day out there, and it was such fun!
The pool-side bar serves snacks and cocktails in case you get peckish after your swim while there is a lifeguard on duty daily.

At 9:15 a.m. sharp, we headed to the restaurant to have our breakfast. Nicely set, the variety was ample I can say, and everything looked tempting and fresh.
Among others, homemade marmalades, local honey but what I appreciated most their top quality yoghurt. Of course, there were the usual cheese and smoked ham, eggs and a kind of an omelette, plus fresh orange juice, pastries with nothing missing.

We were on HB and delighted with the buffet variety. There was the right choice of salads, meat dishes, burgers, pies, pasta, chicken, pork dishes, as well as oven-cooked potatoes. What else to expect!
The service was exceptional, while the team was attentive and very friendly, keen to please guests and ready to help, recommend and check if anything was missing. An extra effort to families with children!
In the capacity of a food critic, I spent a few minutes going around and nibbled a bit before putting anything on my plate, to check quality and tastes. My favourite, the stuffed Aubergine and the Spinach Pie. I had a beer to accompany my meal; by the way, beer and wine are not charged to anyone on full board.
Dessert
The Pastry Cook of the Kymi Palace Hotel in Evia presents daily fresh and varied pastries and cakes. Tastes can satisfy the broad palate. From Baklava to Walnut-cake, Semolina Halva, Loukoumades (honey sprinkled Doughnuts) to Finger and Spoon desserts all of high quality and taste.

We had an Ouzo Meze at this restaurant that happens to belong to the owners of the Kymi Palace Hotel in Evia and were excited with the eye-catching platter presentation of our Ouzo Meze. The flavours were great, along with the atmosphere and the service. My Verdict
The fantastic Kymi Palace Hotel in Evia is not only a family hotel but an excellent choice for social events and weddings, whereas it provides a Conference room fitted with audiovisual equipment and an indoor playground. Our stay was excellent, and I would gladly recommend it to friends and family members.
