The Majestic Hotel in Fira is stylish with a homely feeling offering top-notch hospitality and excellent facilities. It ticks the box of a five-star resort, and it is part of the Karamolegos Group of Hotels, along with Xenones Filotera, Rosebay Hotel and Kamari Beach.
Santorini is the unique holiday destination perfect for romantic getaways and relaxing retreats. It is the most visually beautiful Greek island whether you are into photography or appreciating great views that will get you gasping at just about every corner. With these in mind, we decided to revisit Santorini the pre-peak season this year, to avoid the crowds and traffic jams on the roads of the island. Before flying back to Athens we decided to stay at a quiet yet luxurious place to lay our heads each night, and at the Majestic Hotel in Fira, we were able to do just that and experience the best of both worlds.

The Majestic Fira Hotel Location
Ideally located and easily spotted in a neo-classical style, the Majestic Hotel in Fira expands out in 12 acres lot and is about 6 kms from the airport, approximately 400 meters from the centre of the town. This fantastic residential complex with its independent buildings settled in different volumes is lying on a highway, away from crowds. Before even stepping in the hotel, we were happy to find that we could use the private back yard parking-lot which was a nice touch!

Upon arrival, in the impressive modern spirited lobby, the bell boy and the reception staff greeted us with smiles.
I loved the natural light tones of the walls and sitting space. This well thought out design fits with the hotel’s surroundings.
We were served a welcome drink along with wet towels while completing our check-in and were escorted to our room shortly after.

Our spacious, comfortable and soundproof suite was our oasis for the time we were here and offered unobstructed views of the caldera and the Aegean. Although the interior was extremely contemporary, there is still a cosy and comfortable feeling to the room. The massive wall closet had the perfect size to fit all belongings, and there were a fully staffed minibar, a safe box, a docking station, free Wi-Fi and coffee/tea facilities. The downside; other than the European and the local Santorini channel, the major Greek ones were not connected.
Our plush king size bed had plump pillows and bright bed linen that could not wait to dive in. We slept incredibly well through the night undisturbed by the whoosh and the loud whistle of the wind which was strongly blowing those days making it difficult to enjoy the relaxing facilities of our verandah.
However, there is no reason to leave the hotel. With contemporary accommodation, two restaurants with delicious cuisine an indoor lounge bar, a playground for kids, three freshwater pools –one heated and a beauty Spa, why would anyone want to leave?

Bathroom
In the marbled and roomy bathroom, loved the soaking tub Jacuzzi. The countertop provided space under the sink as well, and plenty of space on the surface for toiletries. The wall hairdryer proved handy, and toiletries by Korrés prime luxury brand that smelled terrific gave an extra touch.
The Famed Sunset View
The Majestic Hotel in Fira might not overlook the compelling caldera, neither a beach, however, its caldera views are majestic as its name describes it to be. Santorini’s caldera views are to a certain extent remote, but a visitor can still gaze liberally at the villages of Fira and Oia, as well as at the eastern slopes and the islands of Ios and Anafi further out.

The hotel’s relaxing vibe extends to the pools’ area with the comfortable loungers for sunbathing. The sun-drenched pool deck is perfect for families and provides beautiful outdoor living space design complete with lounge furniture.

In terms of lounging the Majestic Hotel in Fira has two freshwater swimming pools, one heated for the winter months, and a children’s pool with a playground mostly for younger guests. In the summertime imagine floating under the stars!
Pool Bar of the Majestic Hotel in Fira
There is no need to go too far for sustenance! The Pool Bar is there to serve you refreshing cocktails, and poolside snacks. The fully stocked bar with Angelos in charge is ready to welcome the summer guests. I could imagine how busy this place would be in a couple of weeks from now.
Breakfast
The Capparis Restaurant serves breakfast daily, rich buffet-style giving guests a variety of choice. Nico, the Maître is around to ensure that nothing is missing and tries to make guests feel at home.
We were impressed with the vast selection of breakfast each morning. The focus is on providing delicious, healthy options and serving yummy, fresh, good-quality food.
Having to catch an early flight back to Athens the day of departure, the team prepared for us a selection of goodies to enjoy privately at the lobby bar by the reception. What a nice gesture!
Room Service
Placing an order with room service at the Majestic Hotel in Fira was a pleasant experience. We arranged to enjoy our lunch privately that first day and were delighted with the service and the quality of the dishes.
Crocus Gourmet Dining
Crocus Restaurant stands above the pool bar on the level of the reception. The interior’s chic ambience with the lights sparkling like a jewel offers panoramic views of the pool grounds and the round area reaching out to the coast.
After the amuse bouche from the Chef, we opted for the Vegetable Millefeuille which we shared in the place of a Salad. Nicely presented, the dish was an explosion of flavours and colour!
I love ceviche! Intending to have anything as light as possible that evening, I skipped the main dish, for another appetizer and enjoyed every bite of the Ceviche Shrimps. Light, refreshing and tangy with a lovely presentation, the ceviche was just plain old delicious. Go for it!
The Penne smoked Salmon was my husband’s choice. The pasta cooked to perfection and the rich, creamy sauce exquisite!
We accompanied our meal with a local white and finished off with dessert. Our dining experience achieved perfection; from the food to the atmosphere and the exceptional waiter service from the Metre Nicos Theodorakis, George and Marilena. Thank you, guys!
The Beauty Hall of The Majestic Hotel in Fira
If dining and lounging by the pools’ area aren’t relaxing enough, the Majestic Hotel in Fira also provides a fully equipped and air-conditioned gym, as well as a Beauty Hall that offers sauna, steam room and a small relaxation area. While it welcomes you to slow down and indulge, the staff are devoted to making sure your experience is as pleasant as possible. The selection of fantastic products will make you feel brilliant inside and out. I was here for a facial and my skin was visibly brighter after that. Thank you, Maria and Andriana!
The Verdict
This family-friendly hotel goes above and beyond to make its guests feel like one-of-a-kind. It stands out for first class customer service and hospitality. Make it your first choice in Fira without a second thought. If you are looking for excellent accommodation while in Santorini, I would highly recommend the Majestic Hotel in Fira.
