La Suite Lounge Restaurant in Kolonaki is one of the city’s notable rooftop venues. Located on the 6th floor of the St George Lycabettus Hotel, is an all-day dining restaurant offering creative Greek Cuisine. Absolute stunning dishes plated wonderfully and cooked to perfection!
A favourite part of the stay at the St George Lycabettus Hotel was the food. La Suite Lounge Restaurant prides for its authentic Mediterranean flavours that melt in your mouth. One of the reasons for my visit was to try some of the new dishes on the menu, thus in the capacity of a food critic, I comment below on my tasting experience.
The Atmosphere
What catches ones sight the minute they step in La Suite Lounge Restaurant is the view and the stylish interior. The scene is one to die for and any part of the day or night you come up to the restaurant, once you sit down, you won’t want to leave.

Lunch
Although I usually skip lunch when out travelling, that day was an exception mostly to get a first impression of the cuisine. I tried to eat as light as possible and skipped the wine and had a bottle of mineral water to accompany the meal instead. I had the fresh green salad mixed with avocado and grilled Manouri cheese. The creamy texture and flavour of the cheese made the salad irresistible!

For a main, I opted for the Risotto with fresh Asparagus and Gruyère cheese from Amfilochia. The Risotto with its tempting goldish yellow hue due to ‘Krokos Kozani’ exceeded in taste my expectations. Creamy and mushy, each bite was just a firecracker of flavour.
Dessert
I accompanied my cup of coffee late in the afternoon with ‘Galaktoboureko’ -an all-time Greek dessert. Presented with a twist though, was worth every bite. Thumbs up!
The Dining Tasting Experience
I was back for dinner at La Suite Lounge Restaurant and arranged the reservation of our table two days earlier, requesting a table by the window overlooking through the night, the beautifully illuminated Acropolis. The staff welcomed us warmly that night and the captain of the restaurant team, Antigoni showed us to our reserved table.

The evening was lovely, warm and pleasant that the first thing we did was to request Antigoni to help us take a few photos out by the terrace of Le Grand Balcon. How could we resist the jaw-dropping panoramic view with the lit Acropolis standing on the hill, surrounded by thousands of colourful lights of the city of Athens! The interior was just as nicely decorated and very welcoming.
The Menu
The menu seemed enticing and easy to make your choice. Our meal was one of those where every single bite tasted incredible. We had the bread basket brought to the table accompanied by two delicious olive and cheese spreads and a bottle of wine of our choice. In the meantime, delighted with the taste and creative presentation of the amuse bouche.
Beverage
We accompanied our meal by one of my favourite Greek wines that combine well two exquisite Greek varieties of Malagousia and Assyrtiko.
Appetizers
We opted for the Crab Salad which was a delight. Topped with avocado, sided by red, yellow pepper mousse, had an eye-catching presentation and an explosion of flavour. Worth giving it a try!
Our second choice, the Seabass ceviche was bursting with flavour. It stood on tomato tartar with cucumber and dill. Both choices worth giving them a try!
Main Course
I went for the Grouper which was the winning dish of the evening. The pieces of fish scattered, stood on boiled verbena and seasonal wild greens.
The mandarin sauce gave off a fragrant flavour making it divine. I wish I could transport the exclamation of mandarin aroma that emanated from this dish. A definite must try!
My husband opted for the Salmon, flavoured with grapefruit sauce. The quinoa and the avocado sided salad was tasty and utterly bursting with flavour. Thumbs up!
Sorbet
Shortly after the main course, the waiter approached our table with a Lemon Sorbet to balance the taste. Highly appreciated! Time flies when you are having a great time, and before we knew it, it was time for dessert.
Dessert
To finish off the evening we went for the Chocolate soup and the Millefeuille, two innovative dainty morsels with a twist. However, compared with the ‘Galaktoboureko’ dessert I had a couple of days back, I highly recommend the latter. Finally, we accompanied our dessert choice with the popular Mastic liqueur.
Bottom Line
The meal was thoroughly delicious, the location superb and the service top notch. I can’t recall one bite that wasn’t lovely. You have to experience it to get the full feeling and the authentic tastes of what La Suite Lounge Restaurant offers. You really can’t ask for more! Book a Table
